Glass & gas
We bend real lead/soda-lime “soft” glass tubing in diameters from 8mm up to 25mm depending on the piece, filled with real neon or argon-plus-mercury gas at a pressure matched to the tube’s diameter — see our glass-bending calculator and gas & color reference chart on the home page for the real numbers behind both.
Transformers & wiring
Every run is sized against a real published luminous-tube footage chart — total tube footage, diameter, and gas fill determine the transformer secondary voltage and current rating a run actually needs, not a rule-of-thumb guess. High-voltage runs are wired with GTO lead wire rated for the transformer’s full secondary voltage, and outdoor and cold-climate installations get a larger voltage allowance than an indoor sign of the same length. Restoration practice
Vintage restoration work is matched to the original piece wherever the glass survives: we rebend only the sections that are cracked, devitrified, or missing, re-gas the whole run so color and brightness read as one continuous piece rather than a patchwork, and rewire to a modern transformer sized correctly for the restored run’s real footage and diameter — not simply whatever transformer happened to still be bolted to the sign.
