The project
The gallery wanted two distinct greens and blues that would still read as one continuous material rather than two different technologies bolted together, so both colors were built from real gas-and-glass techniques rather than mixing in any printed or LED element — the jade sections use plain neon gas filtered through cobalt blue glass rather than a green phosphor coating, specifically because the artist preferred its warmer, deeper cast next to the cooler sapphire blue.
The full 64-foot run required careful transformer sizing across multiple sections joined at the sculpture’s mounting points, each junction adding a small effective-footage allowance for the extra electrode pair.
