The project
Unusually for a restoration this old, every original tube section was still glass-sound — the entire scope was electrical: stripping decades of failed GTO wire and undersized transformers, testing each section's continuity, and re-gassing the whole run so the jade green and snow white read evenly across the sign's full 78-foot combined length rather than showing the dim, uneven patches the sign had developed over years of partial failures.
Both faces were brought up to code with new transformers, disconnects, and GTO wiring rated for the sign’s real total footage rather than the undersized originals.
